The January 2026 issue of LUMÉ introduces the magazine’s brand identity with a clean, minimalist aesthetic and a focus on forward-thinking fashion. Centred around the theme of having a style reset, the cover reflects ideas of renewal, confidence and self-expression at the start of a new year. I was inspired by publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, adopting their approach to layout hierarchy and restrained colour palettes to create a sophisticated, editorial tone.
The masthead LUMÉ is bold and prominent, establishing the magazine’s name as a luxury brand, while the slogan ‘Glow with Style’ reinforces its aspirational message. I used a neutral palette with subtle accents to enhance the modern, polished feel. The featured headlines such as ’NEW YEAR NEW FASHION The Trend Predictions of 2026’ and ‘THE SOFT POWER MOVEMENT Emotional fluency in modern menswear’ which introduce key stories that link to the issue’s concept of fresh starts and evolving trends.
I positioned the text carefully around the main image to achieve balance and to lead the viewer’s eye naturally down the page. The overall composition demonstrates a clear understanding of professional conventions, appealing to a youthful, fashion-aware audience aged 16-25. As LUMÉ’s debut issue, it effectively establishes a strong brand presence and visual direction that continues into the February edition.

I changed the image as it has more focus on my model, the first image I chose was good however I realised it wasn't great for showing off my model - only presenting her back and covering of her face in the mirror, in response to this I chose the new image above to show my model whilst providing the same 'behind the scenes' look, when changing my image I chose to change the colour of the puff to anchor my photography.
My February 2026 issue of LUMÉ builds on the refined brand identity established in the January edition, maintaining a clean, luxury aesthetic while shifting focus toward creativity and process. Rather than centring solely on fashion trends, this issue explores the artistry behind editorial production, highlighted through the cover line 'BEHIND THE SHOOT.' The concept emphasises authenticity, craftsmanship, and the often-unseen preparation involved in creating fashion imagery, drawing inspiration from professional editorial layouts found in high-end publications such as Vogue.I continued using elegant serif typography for the masthead and main feature headline to preserve sophistication and brand consistency. This is paired with subtle, minimalist subheadings to create a clear visual hierarchy and maintain a polished, professional finish. The masthead remains dominant at the top of the page to reinforce brand recognition, while the main cover line is strategically positioned over the lower third of the image to anchor the composition and balance the negative space.
Feature lines such as 'Spring Preview: The New Editorial Era' reflect a forward-looking approach, linking the issue to seasonal change and creative renewal. The inclusion of key magazine conventions: barcode, price, date, tagline and call to action puff which enhances realism and ensures the cover aligns with industry standards.
