Planning Task 2: Content Creation

Main ideas mindmap:

How will your contents be organised into sections?

The content i have chosen is structured around the main topic of fashion and lifestyle that branches into five key categories: featured, fashion, beauty, shopping and lifestyle. Each category further expands into specialised topics, offering a larger helpful insight into the industry. The layout emphasises a minimalistic, classy and clean visual aesthetic, using photos or figures to intrigue the readers, content articles and visual elements like infographics, illustrations and cutout models. The aim is to deliver an engaging reader experience through long reads and quick visual content.

What will the contents featured in the contents page for each section be?

The topic of Fashion includes runway coverage, key designers and collections, style guides, fabric trends and relevant fashion week coverage. Beauty is segmented into skincare, hair, makeup and fragrances, with tutorials, product reviews and interviews providing expert insights. Shopping includes essentials, where-to-buy guides, budget finds and gift suggestions. Lifestyle covers travel, home decor, books and cultural exhibitions and reviews. The Featured section serves as a spotlight area highlighting content that shapes the overall theme of the issue. This includes editor’s picks and must-read articles that are curated to offer readers engagement. Behind-the-scenes pieces and cover story teasers offer insider access, while interviews with celebrity designers add expert insight. Highlighted trends, connected with runway or seasonal styles, are emphasised here to set the tone for the rest of the issue. This section not only covers topics featured on the front page in more detail but also drives engagement reinforcing the magazine’s authority by focusing on exclusive and timely topics that resonate with its audience.

Which contents will you draw out to feature on the front cover as the main coverline and other coverlines?

The front cover content is strategically chosen to attract attention and reflect the issue’s most compelling features. The main coverline will typically promote the magazine targeting a fashion interested audience, the main coverline will include content such as an exclusive interviews with celebrity designers or a deep dive into highlighted trends. Other coverlines will include a mix of fashion week previews, beauty tutorials, new launches in skincare or makeup and essential shopping guides. Cultural content like book reviews, home decor inspiration and travel packing guides may also appear. These selections will be supported visually by clean, stylish layouts incorporating cutouts, infographics and minimalist imagery, aligning with the magazine’s refined sophisticated aesthetic.
